How to do Christmas Right at University

Last Friday marked the end of first term, and that meant that it was also Christmas Day in our household. We hosted for 11 people (I say we, I was only in charge of desserts), spent hardly any money and still had a really great evening.

How, you ask? Well...

We did our entire food shop in Aldi, which meant that we fed 11 people (and could probably have done a couple more) for just £33 - we put in £3 each and enjoyed the cheapest Christmas ever!

Our food included turkey, stuffing, pigs in blankets, Yorkshire puddings, parsnips, cauliflower cheese (there was a long and vicious debate about whether this could be included in a Christmas meal, but it managed to worm it's way in eventually), carrots, runner beans, broccoli and, of course, brussel sprouts. So, as you can tell, no-one was ever going to go hungry!

Using my trusted chocolate brownie recipe, I provided dessert, which we enjoyed halfway through a game of Articulate (which was then abandoned as everyone fell into all-cosuming food comas). These taste AMAZING when heated up in the microwave and are also perfect if you have more than just a few people to cook for.

We managed an inexpensive, festive, delicious and fun Christmas night in with friends and, if you're a student like me, I hope this helps you to do the same!
